The Sheraton in Brooklyn was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at and in my opinion, should not be listed as a 4 star hotel. We paid over$800 for two nights plus 80 per day for "valet". I called prior to booking to confirm if they had valet parking and was told yes and not provided with all the restrictions. When we arrived, there was no parking out front. I went in to see if we could find somebody from valet. The lady checking us in told me that they are not here and my fiance will need to keep driving around until a spot opens up. He had to circle the block 7 times. I stated that I thought the hotel offered valet and she said they did, that they would call somebody to drive down to pick up the car. I'm sorry but having somebody drive down to pick up a car and drive it to a garage is not valet . That's glorified self parking. We were told you cannot take the car in and out as needed and that the charge was 80 a day. That is ridiculous especially with a cost that high. Nobody helped or offered a cart for our luggage as valet typically does. Upon checking in the key card machine was not working. The staff was not apologetic and seemed more annoyed that there was guests there trying to check in. We had to be escorted to our room so they could let us in and we were told to go get the key cards later. We travel a lot and this was the first hotel I felt like our belongings were not safe. When we went back to get the key cards another guess was at the desk complaining that his luggage was taken from his room. On our second morning the housekeeping kept knocking on our door repeatedly even though the do not disturb sign was on the door. It seemed like they were trying to see if anybody was in the room. When I opened the door she asked if I wanted housekeeping and I politely declined but asked for towels. She didn't have any towels on her so had to go grab them. My concern is how are you going to enter a room to clean without any supplies. The hotel only offers a Chinese food restaurant for a restaurant in the lobby and the only reason we knew this was that there was a Chinese food takeout menu in the room. There is a cafe downstairs that has pretty good coffee. The bed was comfortable and that is about the only good thing I can say about the hotel. The customer service was not great. They didn't let us know about any hotel amenities or room service or food options. Highly recommend staying away from this property.

Hotel looked much better in pictures. It is run down and poorly managed. The treadmills in the gym were broken. There is no pool available. The club floor, for which I paid extra, was nonexistent. There were no snacks and the soda dispenser was broken. They had some bottles of soda, which I could have gotten cheaper a block away at target. The only benefits are the location and the desk clerks. They were very nice, but couldn’t really do anything. Given how much this cost, I would not stay here again.

We needed a hotel near where our kids and grandkids live. The good things: clean, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, convenient USB ports, HVAC was quiet all night - no roaring when heat went on and off. Not so good things: there are maintenance issues with toilet, sink, shower, and nightstand. Okay for one night but would not be acceptable for longer. Breakfast needs work. It was free for us but $20 otherwise.it was advertised as an American style buffet. Sausage but no bacon. Scrambled eggs, potatoes and dinner rolls. Muffins quartered so already stale. Only brown bread for toast. Make your own waffles but batter was too thin. Fruit was a few whole apples. Coffee was in an urn with a handmade label that said “hot water”. They had Cheerios and Fruit Loops. They should add bacon, cut fruit, yoghurt, more toast options, maybe some pastries and hard-boiled eggs, perhaps. It would not be hard. Other Marriott brands manage it.

Service was great, stay was great. Xiao Ping made sure our room was clean and stocked up supplies daily. She offered extra water bottles and toiletries as we requested right away to our room. Definitely will come back and hope we get the same floor so she can clean our room again
